Single COMM-NATO connector & dynamic microphone

The MT14H418A-86 model features a 50 cm long, Kevlar®-reinforced cable terminating in a 4-pin Nexus connector with NATO pinout. This allows the headset to be connected directly to compatible two-way radios. A retractable telescopic boom supports the dynamic microphone, which is dustproof and waterproof (IP68) and has a frequency response of 200 Hz to 7 kHz and an impedance of approximately 150 ohms. These features ensure your voice remains clear even in noisy environments, while the microphone can be flexibly positioned for left- or right-handed use.

Situational Awareness & Mission Audio Profiles

The integrated talk-through system amplifies quiet ambient sounds and reduces loud impulses, allowing you to remain aware of your surroundings. Mission Audio Profiles offer five different hearing profiles – including Comfort Mode, Conversations Mode, Patrolling Mode, Overwatch Mode, and Silent Mode. These profiles adjust volume and frequency response to suit the situation, whether it's a long drive, patrolling uneven terrain, or protection from sudden noise. This ensures you always maintain control over your acoustic environment.

Robust design, modular construction & dual protection

The ComTac VIII features a slim ear cup with enhanced noise reduction of 29 dB SNR while remaining compatible with low-, mid-, and full-cut helmets. For extremely loud environments, the system can be combined with appropriate earplugs to achieve up to 41 dB SNR. The modular headband allows for quick, tool-free switching to ARC rails and reduces pressure points under the helmet. Its rugged construction meets military standards such as MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461G, providing protection against dust, water, and saltwater. Even with a depleted battery, the connection to external communication devices is maintained—a crucial advantage in critical situations.
